Under the supervision of the Environment, Health and Safety Manager in Memphis, the Health & Safety Advisor will support the development, administration, and implementation of occupational safety programs. This individual is responsible for collecting and organizing data for the analysis of health and safety reports to determine trends and make recommendations to senior management on preventative or corrective measures.

Job Duties:

  • Act as a point of contact for all workplace prevention requests and communicate good health and safety practices.
  • Provide support for the development of appropriate processes and document management of critical programs such as lockout, confined space, working at height, Risk analysis, JSA, etc.
  • Respond to and notify supervisors of any unsafe conditions and recommend corrective measures.
  • Take part in various health and safety management committees and activities.
  • Conduct preventive inspections and audits to ensure compliance with our processes and prepare observation reports.
  • Participate in accident analyses and investigations.
  • Help develop prevention tools and provide recommendations for health and safety improvements and changes.
  • Promote a culture of prevention focused on individual and collective responsibility for occupational health and safety within the organization.
  • Support the Environment, Health and Safety Manage in achieving various objectives.
 

Job Requirements

Qualification:

  • Occupational Health & Safety Certificate/Program graduate (degree or diploma)
  • 2 or more years’ work experience in an industrial environment is an asset (safety or labourer)
  • 2 or more years’ work experience as a Safety professional is an asset (industrial experience is preferred)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, OSHA regulations and standards
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to conduct training programs and facilitate group presentations.
  • Plan and organize own work activities, manage work time efficiently, work independently.
  • To have proven complex analytical skills as well as ability to develop sound recommendations and solutions.
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for independent judgment and successful outcomes.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point
  • Consistent track record for executing performance objectives an delivering results.
