Converting Manager

Kruger Products | Produits Kruger Memphis, TN (Onsite) Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Converting Manager is responsible for the safety, quality, productivity, and costs of the department. This position is responsible for the assets and personnel of the department and the continual improvement of the department. The incumbent is responsible for Bath, Facial, and Towel department operations.

REPORTING

The Converting Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure that safety methods and procedures are followed within the department to assure compliance with Kruger policies
  • Maintain a quality focus and be directly involved in any complaints: establish processes so customer and/or internal complaints are minimized
  • Manage and execute daily activities of the converting department to meet customer and company demands and expectations.
  • Analyze and assess short-term and long-term action plans for the continual improvement of the department to meet maximum operating efficiency.
  • Establish acceptable waste standards and monitors such activity to maintain maximum square inch usage.
  • Develop and implement of cost reduction projects and processes
  • Review and analyze reports and data and make recommendations to improve; oversee the accuracy of department related reports.
  • Manage production quality paper products within budgeted cost levels to meet sales requirements. Adhere to production schedules and advise AGM of any problems
  • Work with maintenance leadership to prioritize, develop and manage machine maintenance and preventative maintenance program (PM’s).
  • Manage supply inventory to assure adequate operating supplies which includes the assurance that materials required for the operations are available, yet not in excess and that downtime is prevented because of shortage.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and administer corrective action when appropriate and ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Direct the operations of the converting personnel to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Work to maintain the operational budget and assist in developing the budget when required.
  • All Supervisory personnel are responsible to ensure that their employees have the needed competencies to apply the operating procedures so that environmental controls are adequately implemented

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree in technical field, Engineering, Paper Science, or equivalent
  • 5-8 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment and proven effectiveness in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of Converting equipment and processes
  • Principles of supervision, and performance evaluations
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with production management.
  • Provide consultation, coaching, facilitation, and teaching with employees.
  • Ability to plan, organize, execute and works to specific goals and objectives.
  • Ability to change and adapt to new situations.
  • Promote change and growth as key to sustained success and a way of life establishes trust with employees through support, goal setting, action planning, and follow up.
  • Office procedures, methods, including computers and applicable CMMS, Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases.
  • Talent management and retention.
  • Maintenance experience is a plus for this position.
  • Key Competencies including candor/integrity, influencing & building partnerships, teamwork, accountability, problem solving, and customer focus.
