Job Description

Under the direction of the Warehouse Superintendent and with safety, efficiency and customer service a priority, the Warehouse Supervisor is accountable to oversee the overall warehouse operation, which receives and stores, moves and ships supplies, stock and materials to and/or from the warehouse. Supervises and coordinates the activities of those engaged in loading, unloading, moving and storing customer product in an efficient and safe manner. Ensures customers’ orders are complete and on time – the right quantities in the right place at the right time, in the right loading patterns.

The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Warehouse Superintendent

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide direct daily supervision of warehouse/shipping personnel to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse and achieve prescribed objectives
  • Provides safety leadership, incorporates and maintains safety observations, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, promotes good daily safety practices and habits. Personally follows all rules and policies
  • Investigate, document and report near misses, fire incidents and property damage
  • Manage employee performance, and administer corrective action when appropriate and ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed
  • Develop and implement shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operation
  • Implement and enforce material handling policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures
  • Review warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat, secure and well organized, and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented
  • Inspect material handling equipment, racking and dock doors and plates, daily and weekly as required
  • Ensure that all records and reports regarding warehouse activities are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained
  • Manage inventory process ensuring accuracy through physical counts, cycle counts
  • Check accuracy of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders
  • Accountable for driving daily, monthly and yearly KPI’s
  • Assist with freight inspection of 3rd party vendor
  • Manage the Drop Trailer Yards by providing direction to Yard Shuttle Coordinator
  • All Supervisory personnel are responsible to ensure that their employees have the needed competencies to apply the operating procedures so that environmental controls are adequately implemented.
  • Train employees, including orientation training, remedial training and training as required on use of equipment, health and safety, processes and customer service
  • Administrate employee’s payroll and daily time punches accurately
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross- functionality.

  • High School Degree required with preference for a BS Degree in a Supply chain or related Business field
  • 5 years Supervisory experience, preferably in warehouse/distribution and/or related industrial leadership
  • Communicates effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Conducts training programs and makes group presentation
  • Plans and organizes work activities, manage work time efficiently
  • Proven complex analytical skills as well as ability to develop sound recommendations and solutions
  • Partners with managers and employees to positively impact business results
  • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for independent judgment and successful outcomes
  • Office procedures, methods, including computers and applicable Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases
  • Consistent track record for executing performance objectives an delivering results
  • Maintaining high energy as well as a pleasant and professional demeanor
  • Key Competencies including: candor/integrity, influencing & building partnerships, team work, accountability, problem solving, and customer focus
